Aloha Mama Bear, IMO comparing investing in the stock of companies with solid revenues, earnings and ROI to buying a lottery ticket is also revealing. Do you actually believe that the odds of making money by investing in large cap tech stocks is the same as the odds of winning the lottery? I know you can't really believe that, so I'm anxious to hear what you really mean by this. I have some difficulty understanding how it is that some who has had 300-1600% gains over the last 4-5 years should be worried about the market declining by 10, 20, 30 or 50+%, unless they have been so extraordinarily foolish as to have never taken any money off the table. I have been "playing" only with my gains (and only a percentage of those gains at that) for a number of years. So I guess I just don't get it. Could you or someone explain? Good luck and aloha.
