Taylor Mill, I was not actually referring to the "wildcatter" issue.
Re that issue, I do not think that wordplay about AIPN's "capsule" description is important. They are whatever they are - I see them as a small, aggressive oil & gas company with several different "irons in the fire" - perhaps too many. But this description, too, is of little value.

A bit more on the subject of sincere information.

Taylor Mill (Post 9663):
<<Likewise I stick with my original rejection of the term "wildcatter" used to describe AIPN; having worked with explorationists my entire career, I think the industry has its own view of whom gets the honorable characterization as a "wildcatter" and who doesn't. Webster's is not where the industry looks for help in deciding who is or isn't worthy. Frankly, I believe no true wildcatter would see GF or his company as worthy of the term. Nor Wall Street. Most wildcatters drill wells -- not just talk about it or make excuses for not doing it. I think there are others from the industry here who would share that view.>>

I find this mainly manipulative. I notice that you have taken the "wildcatter" term (which, I agree, is not adequately descriptive of AIPN) to denigrate the company by saying they are not worthy of this honorable term. Your basis for this denigration is that, according to you, the company does not drill wells. While this is largely true, you conveniently leave out that this fact is in keeping with the companies more extensive plans. They have said they are putting money into the Refinery instead of drilling NOW in Kaz. They are, by their statements, delaying expensive exploratory wells in favor of developing the asphalt operations - where they see a good and timely opportunity (entrepreneuring, it seems)- and searching for a JV partner for the Kaz concession. This makes sense to me, though only time will tell if their plans work out. And, if anything, their more wide ranging activities put them in a higher class than pure "wildcatters", IMO. Mainly though, I find this kind of wordplay to be of essentially no value.

If you want to analyze in an unbiased way why the company's plans are wrong or stupid, please do so. Lacking that, please refrain from simply taking every opportunity to denigrate the company on weak or false grounds. You are simply too obvious.
