Got a call from Business Wire. They appear they want to bring legal action against me as she warned me their legal counsel will be calling.

Once again I'm reminded of the SNL skit. Perky young woman asks sleazy lawyer: "I'd really like to sue someone, but don't I have to have a reason?!?".

As I understand it, committing fraud DOES involve actually taking money from people. Simply making them feel like fools is not enough. And yes, that comment's directed at Internet2, the DoE, and Businesswire.
