Well thats the problem,, anything can happen when a vaccum is created..

During the Vietnam era,, Cambodia stayed out of it until Kissenger's
Xmas bombing destabilized that country, Pol Pot stepped in and
the killing fields replaced rice fields..

<<Has anyone mentioned that Bin Laden could place some of his terrorists in the groups of refugees moved throughout the NATO alliance countries? After all they are more than casually acquainted no?
Jacalyn>>

Bin Laden is now a pariah. Its telling that he allegedly resorted to taking up residence as a guest of Saddam after he (probably) got kicked out of Afghanistan. The majority of the Arab world does not like extremists. And Iran and other terrorist backers dont like agents that are too loud and too active and push us to the point of retaliation.

Next point, it is unlikely that any attempts upon the US will be made while US actions in Kosovo are viewed as defense of Muslim Kosovars. This conflict will act to soften up the perception in the muslim world that the US is a bully thats out to get them. I think the anti-US rhetoric will be toned down after this.
