Astute observation. It may be "insurance" is quite prudent for large shareholders and MM. Should the news be good, the cost would be small vs the "hopefully" rising price. If bad, you shouldnt get fired cause you hedged the position. On the other hand if you sold what you believed to be a solid growing company, you might be embarrassed not to stick with your guns now after the fall.

Of more interest is the lack of call buying. Hard to beleive that this wouldnt be considered a good spec. Hard to come up with a good rationalization other than your explaination, bad news to come. Maybe everyone is already up to the eyeballs with this stuff!
