Datek Online averaged 38,000+ trades/day in December, maybe the average is even greater now. At $9.99 a ticket that's about $379,620 per DAY x 5 x 48 weeks: This year's gross= $91,108,800. I also think ISLD is profitable, trading ~20% of all Nasdaq stocks. They have become top heavy with managers and operations have suffered accordingly. They apparently have so much cash-to-burn that they don't need an IPO or the NYSE. <g> They can afford to stay with the basics - exactly what got them here. Checking and options are NOT needed for Datek Holding to continue to be the best stock trading ECN/Broker-Dealer combo for the retail and institutional investor. Thoughts or corrections welcomed.... n
