Wanted to let you all know that I had a bill payment problem today...

I had a balance due notification on my door today from my landlord with a $55 late fee added. They hadn't received my rent as of the 5th of April.

I immediately performed a payment inquiry from within Quicken. The status said the bill was processed and mailed on 3/30/99 for an estimated arrival on 4/2/99.

I called my landlord and she re-checked her records and insisted they hadn't received the check.

I then picked up the phone and called the contact number listed for my NationsBank Florida online banking. They answered on the first ring and confirmed that the payment was sent as a paper check on 3/30/99. They started a payment inquiry to investigate the problem. They claimed that 99% of the time the problem is with the payee messing up the processing of the bill payment.

I called my landlord again and she found the bill.

Once again, CheckFree performed flawlessly. I called the 800 number one more time and told them to cancel the investigation. I asked the customer service rep. whether they were NationsBank or CheckFree and she told me I was speaking to a NationsBank rep. I found that somewhat interesting since I thought CheckFree was providing the customer service side for NationsBank.

Sam (FWIW)

Spots,

<<A real, unannounced price increase.>>

If it across the board then i suspect that I'll see it also.
