SYBS) today announced the availability of Sybase(R) Adaptive Server(R)
IQ(12)-Multiplex for Compaq, a full-function SQL compliant, decision
processing engine, designed to support a new generation of
Internet-enabled Very Large Database (VLDB) applications. This
powerful combination of Sybase and Compaq technologies enables ad-hoc
access to terabytes of information by thousands of users.
Sybase Adaptive Server IQ(12)-Multiplex utilizes Compaq's industry
leading ProLiant and 64-bit AlphaServer product families and
StorageWorks products based on Compaq's Enterprise Network Storage
Architecture (ENSA), to provide a highly scalable, mixed UNIX/Windows
NT environment, accessing terabytes of data. The result is a robust,
ad-hoc access and decision-support engine that can support the
decision-making requirements of the enterprise and handle the large
numbers of users that access the Internet.
Adaptive Server IQ(12)-Multiplex provides superior cost of ownership
and scalability for a new generation of ad-hoc, Internet enabled
