Maybe they haven't worked out all the restructuring details.

Re:"Burt, care to comment why they need to postpone report date?" If indeed it is true that they are going to postpone then the answer depends on the thread you are posting on.

(With tongue firmly planted in cheek)On the AMD thread, the answer would only be that they have so much good news to report that they need extra time to prepare all the news in a cohesive manner. On the Intel thread, it would be seen as a clear indication of disastrous financials that need a lot of massaging to make them respectable.

I suspect that the truth lies in the middle. AMD feels that they have a raft of good things to say about recent developments (475 MHz, K6-III sales, K7 prospects etc) but that they have a deeper than anticipated loss to explain away for this past quarter. My guess is that they are trying to find an acceptable way to walk through the minefield and say that things look better "further out". So my best guess with the limited information that I have is that there will be a "light at the end of the tunnel" message that yes, things were bad in the past but the next quarter (or the one after that) will be wonderful. The minefield is even more dangerous because of all those lawsuits though so they are going to be VERY careful. VERY. So that message has to be crafted word by word to make sure that they don't get into even more trouble (lawsuits).
