dumbmoney,,,, you should move to communist state. People there were and are being told to give up a lot of things for the benefit of others and in doing so made it worse for everyone. Thinking like yours is what is leading the US down the socialist's path. The collection of small steps we have taken over time and are continuing to take, will lead to our own destruction... You sound like you're only going to learn that lesson the hard way. Too bad history hasn't taught you better. sincerely.

Thanks for the support dumbmoney. Just so there is no misunderstandings on this thread about my real feelings towards this ridiculous war let me say this. 1. The KLA's original intention was to force the Serbs out of Kosovo by means of terrorism and then form an independent nation with no Serbs. 2. No matter what anyone says, this is a Yugoslavian CIVIL WAR. No other nation has a right to intervene militarily. 3. This civil war has no impact on America's national or economic security. (if we had stayed out of it) 4. I personally don't care who wins because it's NOT OUR WAR. Jim

Dumbo: - we have been over in Croatia and Bosnia for over two years, our nation has rebuilt Germany and Japan and we finance feeding programs throughout the world. Heck, we even give military secrets to the Chinese who have their nuclear missles programmed for specific US cities. We welcome the world to crap on us and we pay them to do it. Get off your ass and get your papers together and sign up for the front lines, then come back and tell us what you have learned little boy. There is a difference between not caring about anybody but yourself, and caring about people but placing your care for your family, neighbors, and fellow countrypersons above your care for masses of people you have never met and will never meet. I also view differently my responsibility for people who are in terrible situations through no action of mine or my country's and people who are in terrible situations as a direct result of the way my country uses my tax dollars. I care both about the people in Belgrade who are being killed by bombs my taxes have helped purchase dropped by pilots my taxes have help train, and the people who are being forced out of their houses because of this bombing. Do I care "deeply" (your word) about the Kosovo refugees? No. I care deeply about my family and certain friends. But one can have levels of caring. I care about those refugees, and have done my little bit to help, but no, I don't care to the degree of giving up the car I need to get to work so I can earn the money to give to the relief effort, and to care for those I do care deeply about. If Barrett had said he had little concern for certain people, that would have been one thing. To say bluntly he doesn't care about anybody but himself (and to make "jokes" that prove him right in saying so) is a level of inhumanity I find akin to mental illness. In the words of the old song, "he is more to be pitied than censured." But I don't have any interest in wasting further time with him.
