I think it will be next to impossible for Compaq not to have good earnings and positive forward looking statements. Allowing the stock to tank without any defense is far too arrogant of a move not to have something up their sleeves. Too many cpq execs have lots of $ tied up in stock and would be extremely miffed if this situation was anything more than transitory. Right now the stock is thinly traded because of the uncertainty. If the above scenario plays out, the stock will soar as it will viewed as value. Now if I am wrong and they disappoint, I sell immediately and don't look back ever.
