Srini, Risk vs. Reward is the trade off. You are supposed to make more money in riskier stocks. If the market ever had a meltdown, I would bet that MSFT will do better than AOL. You never know when the internet companies would get so competitive that profitability will be questionable.

However, any real competition to Microsoft would make me laugh. Linux,Apple etc... jokes.

In the long run, you are better off with MSFT as a core holding, imo.
