You have to understand the psychological trading games currently being played by the deep pockets still holding significant short positions in Vivus. The name of the game is buy and HOLD and don't look at what happens on a day to day bases when there is no significant news. IMO the writing is on the wall and the shorts are running out of time.

Also note that the market was way up driven by the same old handful of large cap stocks and of course the same handful of internut garbage (see AOL, YHOO, AMZN today--HAHAHAHA!!!). Also look at the advance/decline line and the 52 week high/low ratio. It looks VERY unhealthy to me and some of these stocks will gap down big time at the first sign of disappointing news.
