Spreng as President and Chief Executive Officer SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 1999--MMC Networks (Nasdaq:MMCN) today announced that Douglas C. Spreng, a former executive vice president at 3Com Corporation, has been appointed president and chief executive officer. Spreng joins MMC Networks with more than 30 years of industry experience, including seven years in executive management at 3Com. He led the growth of 3Com's Client Access Business Unit, which develops, manufactures and markets a variety of network interface cards and modems, from $200 million to $2.8 billion in revenue during his tenure there. Spreng holds a BSEE degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
