X has zero problems if you invest in AcceleratedX. Also I use fvwm1 as my desktop. I've run on a half of dozen different video cards. I've run multidisplay X with four displays and three different video cards in one system. I run multiple two headed systems for month's on end with dozens of open apps and X has no problems. At 90 bucks from cheapbytes, AcceleratedX software is just another system requirement like at least one hard disk. If you haven't tried AcceleratedX, suggesting X has problems is akin to non linux users chanting a borg mantra.

home.earthlink.net for X my way.
