Darren,

Let me correct you,

Three camps:

1.) Hand wringing, humanitarian disaster-chasing, hypocrites. This group both demands something be done to stop the horrible tragedy, and condemns any action that is aimed at actually solving the problem for the long term. In short, narrow shallow teeth-gnashers.

2.) People who argue that if we are to use force, we should do it correctly and apply force to win and win decisively. These people argue that we have an interest in intervention in Kosovo and we blundered by being wishie washie and applying force gradually.

3.) People who argue that we do not have an interest in Kosovo and we made a major foreign policy mistake in getting ourselves wrapped up in a conflict which does not impact on us.

Note groups 3 & 2 actually make an argument and with a few exceptions, have made laudable contributions to the discussion.

Note group 1 are merely complainers and ambulance chasers who like to hear themselves cry because it makes them look and feel compassionate and caring. All in all these people have contributed zilch to a discussion of this crisis and have done more than anyone else to turn this particular discussion into an aimless pity party.

Hope this makes it clearer.
