Ed, I used the term "Reservoir Fragmentation" which implies that the reservoir is fragmented into several smaller individual "tanks", either by stratigraphic variations within the horizon or structurally (ie faulted), so that numerous wells are required to effectively drain the reserves. Quite often around salt domes there can be numerous radial faults near the salt stock, some which are nearly invisible to image even with 3-D, which can effectively limit production of those reserves in adjacent blocks. Likewise stratigraphic variations, such as shale plug channels, unconformities (missing section due to erosion at time of burial), and pinchouts can also limit the total recoverable reserves from a single wellbore. This may be true even if the reservoirs are in communication with one another. Only time will tell how continuous the reservoirs are by either pressure/volume or material balance calculations. This is not to say that Mississippi is not a good play to be in (success speaks for itself) but Benz's management should always be asking itself, "Can we get the best use of our limited dollars there or somewhere else?" When mentioning about the shoot, is the acquisition about done or is the processing almost done? A good processing job may take a little more time than one thinks, and if so, August might be a little early to pick locations unless they are really obvious . Hoping for the big one! Whynotte
