<<This is the Atlanta Symphony of today. A great music organization constructed over a decade by some unemployed teachers and some kids with community support. How do you get to Symphony Hall? Practice! >>
This is a fast moving forum. Take off for a day and miss alot!
This is more what I had in mind in asking for in my last post. Very impressive and it came not out of a prosperous period, but the Depression.

I hate criticizing [but it comes so naturally]. The student practice was not the hard part in forming the symphony, and the individual music teachers were also not the sine non qua. What improved the life of Atlanta with the Arts, music, symphony was the collective organizing by a group of leaders. This 'elite' was in the trenches with the musicless families. They saw the need, and the possibility of sacrifice of income for equity. All gained. I'll leave it at the observation. I am too tired, and I like it too well to add something half-cocked. [You are a surprise, Nihil.]
