Are you talking about over the past millennium or in recent history? Every ethnic group in the Balkans has at one time another held the military advantage and exercised it by bloody pogroms against the other ethnic groups. There is evidence of Croatian atrocities against Serbs during the attempted secession by Serbs from Croatia, and evidence that it was answered in kind by the Serbs under the sponsorship of Slobodan Milosevic. That is not justification for ongoing Serbian crimes against the Kosovars, in any case.. I suppose the history of the Balkans would have been a lot less bloody if one ethnic group or another had been successful in totally eradicating the others and we wouldn't have been talking about this now, but NATO is saying that it's not going to happen on their watch.
