JohnG, have you tried your screen with anything but small caps?

shortability:
price > $5
30 day ave vol > 5 k

small cap:
$20 M < market cap < $200 M

I've found that it is not always easy to find shares to short on such thinly traded issues. Also, with Brown, I have to have 100% margin, eg cash, to short btw $5-$10. I wonder how the screen would work by setting the price, volume, and market cap a little higher. May really limit your choices, however. Just some thoughts.

After you have obtained the 25 short candidates, how do you select among them? Any pointers?
