Assumming that the Nuinsco deposit/prospect was formed by fractional crystalization from a melt, then the Ni-bearing and related units must have been intruded into their current location and therefore are younger than the host rocks (gneisses in this case). The combined intrusion of the magma, fractional crystalization, some folding of the rocks and then erosion over 2.5 billion years has produced what now appears to be a trough like intrusive body that has been slightly turned up on its side before having the top removed (probably by glaciers during the most recent ice age).
