No- it is their job to stop it. Just as we fought our civil war and the Irish fight theirs and the Africans fight all theirs, etc etc etc it is up to the country itself to work things out. A peace IMPOSED from outside will not last. It is a waste of time and lives. Unless you want a NATO presence (and it would have to be a pretty oppressive presence- if you've noticed the oppressive British presence couldn't halt hostilities in Ireland) forever in the region we must let them work it out for themselves.

My point is the stupidity of trying to make this massacre seem "different". They are all horribly similar. And, like a plague, there really is no way to stop them save for awesome military power and a level of intervention we DO NOT have the stomach for. This was true in Vietnam- where children were willing to be blown up carrying bombs and it will be true here. Better to realize it now than later.
