well for some reason petroquest which i mentioned yesterday had some volume today .i descided to buy a little and will continue to buy more over the next few days .a friend of mine knows the someone who helped drill their new discovery well in the gulf its a good one and tested at 20 million mcf per day with petoquest having around a 50% interest .provided it comes on stream without problems which is planned for june ( and one can never assume that with oil and gas wells ) the entire worth of the company will be generated from this one well in one year at current gas prices .they have a lot of other wells and according to my friend who is in a position to know they have a lot of other extremely promising projects to drill as a result of 3 d seismic.they had a big loss in the last quarter due to write down of assets due to declining price of oil and gas , the opposite will be the case in this quarter due to the rapid rise in the price of oil and gas to a lesser degree.
a couple of years ago i subscribed to the kaiser bottom fish report but didnt renew ,this week i recieved a pro bono copy from kaiser , so i guess things must be really tough with him.i kind of agree with him that we are probably close to an all time low in the small mining stocks and he seems to think there are huge potential profits ahead .i may buy his arguement and risk some money to try and get back some of the money i lost .none of the clunkers that i own vpr, dot, isg.or epic for that matter are mentioned .the only one that i own is metallica trading well below what i paid of course. anyway it makes interesting reading .so i in fact agree with clk that we are close to a bottom i personally think that petroquest and probably some others in the small oil and gas area a couple of which kaiser mentioned are much better specs than epic.just my personal opinion of course .arh
