***Bishop Berkeley, the Bishop of Derry Ireland, more than a 1 1/2 centuries ago, gathered momentum for a movement, to leave the British Isles, to go out into the new lands , over the sea, and form a Utopian society. He and his followers felt that the "Sun did not set anywhere in the world , that it did not set on the inequities of the British Empire!!" Setting off finally to sail with his fellow believers(one was even the sister-in-law to the King of England) off to form this community, the ships navigator was hittin' the rum a little heavy.
...Instead of landing in the West Indies, they landed in Massachussets, with what was then the largest collection of books in the colonies at the time , and later became the largest library in the colonial US, at that time. Bishop Barkeley, is the Name sake for the city where I was Born, Berkeley! And he made the phrase famous:

... I can't tell you the fate of these happy utopians, until XNET hits 7... or 8 tomorrow, but the reason for this story , is where would a bright young Berkeley- boy wind up , living on the west-coast if he followed the Bishop's advice? Answer: ** ASIA **

That there are major Players in high- level negotiations, right now, even as little XNET makes it's illustrious run, is a major "GIVEN"!! DELL, LU, MOT, IBM, QCOM, ATHM, and others... and oh lets not forget MSFT!! From the benefit of our experience with the internet and advances in communications(wireless), and all the softwares of E-commerce that we've generated for the next stage of human interaction and trade, look at the newer ways ASIA and the Pacific can rebuild and restructure their approaches, mirrored and based on the "New E-commerce" model. From secure credit-transactions a and international banking, to Industrial & Corporate interface on an internal and outer international interaction. So as we see that recovery in ASIA, we will see it rise emeshed in this completely new and highly more effecient Web-based commerce. All those $$Billions that the World Bank was giving out a couple of years back, might even get paid back within the Decade!! The Ministery in Beijing has been trying to do a lot to get peolple there online, by trying to reduce phone rates, and there's also direct TV hook ups that will come into play, for accessing the Web. The Ministry has already said that it feels the Internet could be "the most valuable Source" for it's people to become more familiar with the world of "higher" Technology(are you listening MS Jackson! :-}) ...and the recovery is underway.
... and MSFT, ATHM,LU,DELL,MOT,QCOM and a host of other's are their
right now as we speak. Helping China Reshape and rethink herself into the next millenium!And all the other "Little DRAGONS" as well.
....Small world isn't it, but getting vaster everyday! And as for Microsoft...it's bigger than CHINA!! LOLOL!!
