Exactly. Since microsoft has never paid a dividend in its entire existence, and since they are the largest corporation in the world in market cap and by DEFINITION could not be purchased by anyone, there is technically no way for the aggregate shareholders to "cash out"..

It is just a never-ending game of musical chairs.

And it just goes to show how screwed up capitalism has gotten when taken to extremes. Don't get me wrong, I don't think any other political or economic system is any better, but the stock market madness of the last year is exposing some fundamental flaws that appear to have no possible solution, other than horrendous financial disaster. We're making the roaring 20's look positively conservative.
