Hi Tony - Heat, Higher Vcc / power consumption

If you follow the thread of my posts, I was asking Paul if AMD had an offering for the low power consumption space, i.e., mini-notebooks.

Developing solutions that offer lower power consumption allows PC makers to develop smaller form factors.

I seem to remember when Intel entered the true notebook space years ago, there was some criticism about how big and heavy the "package" was, how much heat the CPU dissipated, low battery life, etc.

I suppose that AMD is entering the space with the toys they've got. I guess it's I viable option for them to put their desktop solution in a notebook and claim the speed title (for now).

I personally hope Intel responds with a lower power solution that also regains the speed title in the portable space. Geyserville technology also intrigues me. I would love to have the versatility of a machine as Intel describes with Geyserville.

But I suppose AMD could always put a 2.5V K7 in something the size of a cake box that weighs 10 lbs. , and call it a design win in the portable space.
