I deal with e*Trade...

The pop is due to yesterday's US news about online trading up ~30% Q199.

Ameritrade (up $29), e*trade USA and Schawb all up a ton yesterday...

Yeah, I use E*Trade Canada. I've been watching V since it was first on the Exchange and it's done *real* well...but watching is all I could do, because I'm all tied up in my (lowly) 1000 BII. However, once BII really goes and I move out some of my huge <g> holdings there, I'll be into a few I'm keeping an eye on.

Clearnet (NET.A) seems (IMHO) a sure-fire winner. Timing is all, because it's been a flat stock for some time now, waiting for the CRTC to remove the cellular bandwidth cap, at which point (May?) it is going to be a natural takeover target by one of the big players. BCT.Telus seems to be the odds-on favourite right now, though Jean Monty of BCE is being coy. George ???, the CEO of Clearnet, stated a couple of months ago when he was offered $20 CDN by Bell that he wouldn't even consider less than $30. Strongly backed by analysts, one of whom has a $28USD (!) 12 month target, takeover or no!

At the moment, BII has too much upside for me to back anything out of it to put into NET.A, though. Even if I end up missing the takeover at 50%, there's still 50% or more in BII, I believe. Ah buLEEEVE!
