RealNetworks burns rubber.

via CBS Marketwatch

>RealNetworks (RNWK) soared 32 1/4, or 21 percent, to 186 3/4 after Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Internet analyst, Jamie Kiggen started coverage with a "buy" rating and a price objective of $250.

"RealNetworks is ideally positioned to benefit from the tremendous anticipated growth in broadband access," Kiggen said. He noted that the recent merger announcement between Yahoo and broadcast.com "should accelerate the adoption of streaming media... and open up the possibility for a more meaningful relationship with Yahoo" given Broadcast's relationship with RealNetworks.<

OK, so now RNWK's market cap is 6.1B -- exceeding AAPL's by 1B.

Can't we *please* get a QT spinoff, Uncle Steve?

Pretty pleeeease ... ?

Jim, I expect to be surprised by products, satisfied with earnings.

Whatever Steve decides to do next, I'm sure will be impressive.

Your 17" 333mHz iMac (with firewire?) could be a gateway killer, and make sense for us soho graphics folks. Network a couple together!

What will Lombard be? They are practically giving powerbooks away. Even the bottom of the line power book kills anything else with a 14" screen- (my requirement.) 15" screens? How fast? I assume USB, firewire, and 10/100 base T ethernet.

I'm back in at $32 1/2, and I may not sell this time. May look to buy puts... or sell calls if we run to... dare I say it... no, I don't dare say it.

Web , AAPL's small business sales campaign begins 4/20/99 - 333mz iMAC

You are correct any version iMAC A,B,C does the job in most cases but could
the new iMAC be the commercial (333mz, 17" CRT) version ?

That would seem unlikely to me, at least not at the $1199 price point quoted to dealers. The news didn't mention anything about a 17" monitor or the larger form factor it would entail, only new colors and a faster processor. It sure would be cool, though!

Let's hope we get a better keyboard and mouse out of the deal too. :)

Anyone have a guess as to how much more the OEM cost to Apple would be for a 17" monitor of the same quality as the current 15" model?
