martial law and closed the Texas government down and rescinded all laws passed by

Yes, there would be merry hell to pay (though perhaps tempered if the Texas Liberation Army were killing people right and left). BUT, would that justify Canada coming down and bombing the U.S.?

Actually, the federal government has already illegally interfered with the laws of each and every state to govern itself in accordance with the constitution. Though not actually declaring martial law, the impediments engaged in and accepted by de facto participation, the states have been slowly providing the federal government more and more autonomous authorities that diminish the states' rights to govern itself. Also, please check out the Bill of Rights. Jacalyn
