Something is up or should I say down here. Stocks just don't drop 25% in one day for nothing. Take a look at ASDV or AXNT prior to pre-releases. I'm out as I don't need this, lucky I sold the other half at 32 yesterday. The longer they take to pre-release, the lower it will ultimately go, assuming there is a shortfall, of course.

BTW obviously CHKP was down because of AXNT yesterday.

One of the odder parts of the report:

Part of our downgrade stems from our assessment of the probabilities of the market looking through the amortization charges for valuation purposes. For that to happen, the companies would have to provide some official numbers adjusting for the charges. Without that, there isn't a consistent yardstick for measuring earnings and the information to make the adjustments isn't readily available for most investors. The companies haven't provided that information partially out of concern over the SEC's reaction. Consequently, most investors will likely use reported earnings adjusted for special charges in the quarter since they don't have comparable historicals to use for comparison purposes.

In other words, we, as investors are too stupid to figure out how to strip out non-cash charges, so because he thinks we will act stupidly he downgrades the stock in advance! Talk about self-fulfilling prophesies. Maybe if analysts paid less attention to earnings ....

But i think I've posted that before.
