In response to the previous two posts I would say that the person with whom I was chatting would definitely know what was going on but that is irrelevant as there was no direct discussion regarding future earnings per se. What was interesting was that the H & B conference report and their reiterated "buy" signal, exactly mirrored what I was told and was even more to the point. The pieces of the puzzle must fit and they do. On the other hand, there has been absolutely no negative report or even an inference of any kind that I have been able to lay my hands on. What I am seeing is a very positive picture and a solid basing between 7 & 8, and a very similar picture to that which occurred early this year when the price jumped five points, from the same base, just prior to earnings. I'd rather take a chance and be on the train out of the station later this week or early next week and I can't see much downside risk from here.
