We don't consider the information to be authentic unless we can trace it back to its source and the conditions underwhich it was delivered. Then again it must be verified through several reliable sources in triangulation. Much of what people accept as scriptures of God is hard or impossible to authenticate (Like when God talks to Jimmy Swaggart the Braggart). Typically the information delivery mechanism and circumstanses are well documented. The tests of who's message it is (the person or God) is made very clear. <<mumbled into the noise...>> not true. The message is quite complete and clear. All kinds of circumstanses have been built in, so that no body has a loop hole when the judge submits the final verdict. Example: many people complained that if they could see the power of God directly they'd just believe and live accordingly no problem..Along comes Moses et al you know that story. How'd they do? One flesh pot and a molten calf coming up. So then they complain it isn't for everybody and along comes Jesus to the gentiles; miracle after miracle..Same story right? Looks like the evidence is all there. If you were all knowing and all powerful you could detect all the forces in the universe and have perfect understanding of them. It hasn't been>> Again that doesn't mean it can't be. It just means you don't have the right measurement equipment (you'd need to be all powerful and all knowing). I am comfortable with the degree of underlying uncertainty. If I trust in my God and follow his ordainances according to my abilities, he will support me according to my needs and have mercy on my soul.
