Oh, come on. Provide a link if you're going to spew such nonsense.

[edit: I finally found the link:

The story says nothing and suggests nothing about RNWK. It's specultes that AOL and CBS might announce a merger.]

I don't see anything on the StockSite homepage or in the News link below that even suggests such a thing. Most of this talk of merger with AOL comes from the same analyst who said the other day that both Microsoft and AOL "will have to buy or build an audio platform...given that neither have the time to build i think buy will occur"

Now does that statement cast any doubt on Steve Harmon's savvy as an analyst in the market RNWK is in? Do you see a problem there? I don't know how anyone can give good analysis of this market if he doesn't realize that Microsoft has already built an "audio platform". Unless, of course, he figures "platform" in this context means a web page with links to media content -- which would be a bizarre definition. That's not what Real and Microsoft mean when they talk of "platform".

The point is, that too many who look at RNWK don't see what the company is. It is a technology company that would be a terrible fit with a media-focused company like AOL.

By the way, I am impressed by much of what Harmon says. He seems to understand media very well. But he doesn't show the same grasp of technology and that's a problem when he's giving supposedly informed advice about technology companies.
