I guess I was thinking more along the lines of a GE (which I
think has tracked the performance of the S&P better than most).
Back in 94-95, the market decided that reliable low teens growth
was worth a high teens PE. Today, the same growth (both recent and
projected) is deemed to be worthy of a PE of 40. I would say KO is
not the best example of PE expansion for the last 2 years. The P,
E and PE of KO are essentially back where they were beginning of 97.
So the market hasn't totally ignored the lack of continued growth
at KO - though certainly a lot more downside could be justified.
