Is the HM bid in fact a $7.80 bid? Isn't it a percentage of the MV of HM - and this approximates to the price of the ARP stock - so all Barrick has to do is top that by some amount. Also a higher bid doesn't mean admitting a past mistake - only that circumstances have changed, including a competitive bid? dd
