Hi Linda,
Join the crowd of "learners"
These books are highly recommended for learning TA:

The Visual Investor by John J. Murphy
Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by John J. Murphy ( also with a study guide)
Trading for a Living by Dr. Alexander Elder (also has study guide)
Technical Analysis Explained by Martin J. Pring

I started with Trading for a Living, along with the study guide, very good and a definite re-read often for me...

I'm currently reading The Visual Investor ..easy read and Very good!

Have you visited ClearStation? Of course Jenna's website is loaded with information...

Fun market today...
Regards and good reading!!
Adelle

murphy's book - technical analysis of the financial markets, it's a 1999 version, hardcover, 500 pages, $70. it's an absolutely *essential* book; i'm nowhere near finished, and am gaining knowledge in leaps and bounds. things i only vaguely knew or thought i knew are becoming significantly clearer.

right now, it's taking a platform on the 'next level' of essential books. the 'basic' level is o'neill's "how to trade in stocks", lefevre's "reminiscences of a stock operator", darvas' "how i made 2 million in the market", and most of the (reprinted) summaries by richard wyckoff.
