A lot going on in Europe regarding MUSE education to mds.

This Sat and Sun Vivus will be presenting lectures at the European Urological Association meeting concerning MUSE safety/efficacy/use instruction etc...

According to Vivus MUSE will be launched throughout the EU in May.

Vivus will be presenting 7 or 8 lectures at the American Association of Urologists meeting in Dallas in early May. Lectures will include the safety of MUSE in cardiac patients, the efficacy of MUSE on Viagra failures, gene therapy, and more.

Vivus will show a PROFIT for Q1 although as expected both international and domestic sales will be lower than in Q4 1998.

According to The Freedom of Information Act, in the United States alone there has been over 400 Viagra associated deaths after 9 million prescriptions were written. God only knows how many non lethal coronaries have occurred.

For those of you slow on the math that's about 1 Viagra associated death for every 22,000 prescriptions written.

Those figures by any "reasonable" standard would IMO have any other non life saving drug pulled off the market IMMEDIATELY but I must confess since Pfizer has Washington in its back pocket, Viagra is here to stay. Maybe we will get lucky and after we exceed 1000 deaths Viagra will get the black box. Probably wishful thinking but you never know....
