Thank you very much for the detailed answer, it is truly appreciated, I think we are in agreement that it is the affluent who will buy computers, but I think you estimate of how many "affluent" there are/will be in China is fairly low. If even 5% fall into that category over the next 3-5 years, that's 65-70 million people or 30-35 million adults. With it's own manufacturing/assembly operation in China, there doesn't seem to be any reason why Dell could not be price competitive with anyone selling computers in Japan. As for corporate and gov't sales, I think this will mostly depend on how "connected" and how price competitive Dell will be, about this I have no information save Dell's past success in other markets, so I too believe only time will tell.
