1. Easy to use. It's very important that it be simple (no bells). A clean look, integrated with bill pay.

2. Cost. Quicken is an additional expense for the consumer. If a consumer is already paying $5.00 a month for bill pay, they're not going to want to spend another $50 bucks for Quicken.

3. 100% web based. No software to install, no installation problem, no configuration problems, click and use. In addition you can access your check register at home, at work, travel, etc.

You must keep in mind that the vast majority of consumers use paper check registers and paper bills. If these consumer are going to try EBPP they will need simple and a cheap option.

While most of us on this thread use and like Quicken, we are unlike the average consumer. The average consumer is just now warming up to computers and the internet. Not to mention alternative ways of getting on the internet: WebTV, internet phones, palm pilot, etc.

It would be smart to settle the Intuit suit BEFORE rolling out this product.
