Slow down there, Tex. <g> When you say, If majority of mutual funds lag the market, that is a seriously lop-sided distribution, you are again eliding the crucial point: fees. It would definitely be possible to have a positively skewed distribution with a narrow peak and reach a similar result. However possible, though, neither that nor your argument are true. Were you interested, there have been several studies showing that the professionals underperformance of late is mostly due to underweighting large stocks; I'll try to dig up a reference if you like. -bakunin
