OT Does it get any better? O absolutely, mon ami! Like the year when the YANKEES came from 25 games back on the pitching of the Ragin' Cajun, Monsieur Ron Guidry! That was the year I developed a deep and abiding love for the South. Boston did it's usual El Foldo and got beat by Bucky Dent in the play off game IN BOSTON!!!!

I remember a game in a crucial series between the Yanks and the Sox down the stretch when the the teams were tied into extra innings. Figueroa was pitching for the Yanks. He was sent to the showers and Billy Martin brought in the GOOSE; whereupon his mighty fastball retired the side. The game was at THE STADIUM (you know, the one in the South Bronx), Reggie (Mister October)Jackson stepped up to the plate. He got behind on the count, and then, on the next pitch, CRACK, bang zoom, the ball was placed in orbit over the right field fence. As soon as the crowd heard the crack of the bat, they knew it was gone, and 10,000 plastic beer cups got thrown in the air and the crowd WENT WILD! I know, I was there. There is no place on earth closer to heaven than Yankee Stadium when the Yankees are stomping the Red Sox. None!

shust:.."Red Sox won their first game yesterday and the Yankees lost. Does it get any better!"

Life is grand when the Yankees lose....I'm sure Max90 would agree...
