I wouldnt suggest doing it intentionally, I did it by mistake in the course of daytrading other issues. Never have I freerode PNLK.

I have been confused by brokerage firms. When I used AG Edwards they would not let me sell a stock until after settlement date regardless of if it was already covered from cash in the account. For this very reason I transferred all holdings from AG to DLJ and can buy an issue and sell it 15 minutes later if I choose to do so. If the cash account covered to purchase and I sell the same day there is no problem. If the cash account did not cover the purchase price and an issue is sold before the account is settled you will be "free riding". and SEC regulations require a temporary restriction for 3 months on the marginable purchases.

otherwise it is not a problem.
