Some random thoughts on international funds:

Japan -- No recovery in sight.
In my opinion the Japanese made two huge mistakes in last 20 years:
(1) paid too much to acquire properties,
(2) it took them 40 years to develop the most advanced manufacturing methods in the world (for example, just in time, total quality management, flexible manufacturing, etc.) then they gave away the methods to other industrial countries for almost nothing.

Emerging countries -- market too small
Most emerging markets are too small. For example, at the top of Thailand's market the total market cap was only about $90 B. A $10 B in flow or out flow of funds would rock Thailand's market.
