Tax advice

Do not ever send donations to foreign charitable organizations. In order to get a deduction you must donate to a US 501c3 charitable organization. So donations to US based charities like the Red Cross (with international branches) will qualify.

I had a client who moved to Mexico and donated some money to a local school there. He was shocked to learn it was not deductible...I don't think that school ever saw any money from him....Face it, Americans LOVE tax deductions!
