AOL plans to buy a cable company to counter the AT&T/TCI deal...

This rumor was on the street tonight.

AOL seems to fear to be left out of the broadband market.
Targets are still unknown, but CBS is a possible prey.

Now, listen to that: AOL would also want to "make up" with AT&T/TCI
and take a stake in interactive TV!
AOL executives would have said that fighting AT&T/TCI is not the
right way to take AOL into the 21st century.

Now, please keep in mind that this is only a rumor reported to me by
a friend who has access to the best of Wall Street...

I guess time will confirm or deny this story...
