Yes. And AMD (or Diamond more directly) will again ride "piggyback" on Intel. Kind of like how Intel is spending gobs and gobs of money promoting their own SIMD instructions and AMD will slightly benfit from it. AMD would never have the money to promote either on their own.

Have you seen the lone 3D Now! commercial? Probably not. It wasn't that good, not even close to Intel's pretty neat PIII commercials. (I especially like the music in the monkey one.)
