Mr. Bill Holtzman,

I heard Sun is giving away Solaris for use in PCs and they hope to do to Windows what Microsoft did to Netscape.

They are going to need more than Solaris. Solaris is not well suited for the PC market, technically too challenging for the normal PC user.

Well maybe Microsoft could challenge by giving away NT for use on Sparc processors. It would be just as useless as Solaris on an Intel processor.

Bill,

You're ahead of me on that one. Rest assured, however, that
MSFT is going to have rough-sledding ahead in the workstation
market in any case. SUNW-AOL is going to replace Wintel.
