Serbian President speaking with a Greek reporter:

ATHENS - The Balkans should be left to its peoples, and they do not need any
intervention by big powers. If they leave us in peace, we will find a common
language and reach agreement on all issues. This is the only condition for a
better future of the region, Serbian President Milan Milutinovic said in an
interview published Saturday by Greek daily Ta Nea.

The people of Yugoslavia are united today more than ever, Milutinovic said.

We are attacked daily by 200 or 300 aircraft, but we are defending
ourselves. They have so far carried out over 2,000 sorties, claiming they
were attacking only military targets..

However, their targets are also our industries, hospitals, schools,
bridges... Devastation is tremendous and the population is suffering the
most. But we are fighting for our homeland with all our power as we have no
other choice but to perservere and win, Milutinovic said.

The people of Yugoslavia are happy to see the Greek people among the first
to oppose the bombardment, Milutinovic said.

The people of Greece supported us from the outset, speaking their mind
clearly. I believe that the role played by Greece is precious and that
Greece must raise its voice even higher against the aggression to which we
are subjected, not only for our sake but also for its own and that of all
other countries in the region, as one never knows who the next victim will
be, Milutinovic said.

The world nevertheless undestands what is happening, even the governments of
countries taking part in the aggression, but they do not speak openly
although they know that we are right. This does not, however, absolve them
from being held accountable, Milutinovic said.

They are thus violating the international order and international law,
demonstrating that the UN practically no longer exists, Milutinovic said.

<<Then would you please explain to me how Serbia represents any danger to the United States which requires our Defense Department to bomb it in defense of U.S. citizens and interests?>

Nuke and I have already explained our interests there. Read my post.
