I respectfully disagree with difficulty of tracking Long Port --let me share my experience--load Medved quote tracker-( a free program)
buy an equal dollar amount of each stock and enter into the quote tracker --Every minute, on 2/3 of a page you will see
gain/loss on each stock and total port by dollars and %'s
daily and to date
in color
a mini chart on each stock

AND you will find great comfort in watching your account inexorably increase each day--about 1% per calender day, 365% per year. --Rande's first Long Port from 12/9/98 and the new Long Port are advancing like that. These appear to be rather bulletproof. At that rate $20,000 would be $266,000 in 2 years.

It is great for those who work and cannot be on a computer trading all day.

IMHO Rande deserves credit for creating the safest / incredibly profitable investment ever introduced on SI --if anyone knows of a better one I am sure we would all like to hear/ read about it.

Again, respectfully submitted -------Eagle

PICK LIST: Cyberslam, there are a surprising amount of folks that tell me they are playing the whole portfolio as it is. I was shocked when I had heard some of the amounts of money being poured into them. That is what spawned the mutual fund direction. Like everything else, it will be different. . . may even mix short positions with long as a hedge during the down seasons.

PICK LIST:
As for extracting picks, posts are ongoing, so it is best just to bookmark and read once per day. SAMS still include ARTT, ROSI, NBTY, OMKT, CDNW . . .the portfolio holdings give stability to the swings, etc. . . Recent swings include IDTC, and PLCO/PLCOP and after thinking about it overnight, I am leaning toward leaving TUNE and TUNEP as a swing and even considering them a LONG TERM HOLD. I think there is far more to come. . . . momos are announced as they come, SELB on Monday was clearly posted, BDLS was as well. . .tho it did not perform nearly as well as SELB did. .. .we don't play many momos, and don't reccommend anyone to get involved in trading momos, as they lead to more losses than gains 95 percent of the time. . . .we play timing picks like SIEB, SEVL, SIII, AXC, NTFY, SYBR, PVII, NETM or UOLP with just a few bucks. . . and we play the undervalued gems often held for a long time, like BIPL, FCSE, BYBI, USTI, BDE, AURL, GRDN, MADGF, and William Jepsen's undervalued plays.

Hope this helps,

Rande Is
