1:30am here.... in Australia. As people say there is Globex and lots of US stocks are traded in Tokyo and Frankfurt already. In Australia we now have warrants (options) on the S&P 500 index traded on the local exchange.

How much difference it would make would I think depend on whether the scheduling of news announcements would change. You couldn't do after the bell ones which only allow traders on foreign exchanges or after hours to trade the news. It might level the playing field. News that is released late now might move earlier. The main trading session time might not change a lot.
